Project 3 Research

So I decided to do the batman series because I like the fact that batman is one of the only superheroes that doesn't have super human ability or mutant powers like most other superheroes.  The approach I would like to take on this project is more of a dark, twisted side that can portray the gadgets that he uses, something that portrays batman and his enemies personalities.  A vigilante/grungy/corrupt/serious is what I would like to develop my concepts around to show how the city of Gotham is so chaotic and corrupt.

Digital Comps for Shingmulnara Shampoo

So it happened to be that the product I choose turned out to be a korean shampoo instead of a lotion.  After a bit of research trying to find something on this company (so hard to get info on any of their products); on what the name is/means, and the ingredients they use: i found out that the name of the Shampoo by CJ Lion is called Shingmulnara (after researching it I could not find any meaning for it).  And found out about their ingredients to be all natural and organic extracts.   The approach I want to have is an organic, all natural, great long lasting scent.

Some Ideas so far....

Part 1: About myself

My name is Henry, I am from the San Fernando Valley, specifically Reseda, and I've lived in this area ever since I was born.  I'm a very open minded person, have a big passion for sports, I like being competitive, and have a major appreciation for nature and the outdoors.  The reason why I chose to major in Graphic Design is due to the ever growing interest I have for visual communication and the major influences it can have on society.  After taking a few design classes at CSUN, it definitely has helped me tremendously with the continuous learning and understanding of the potential Graphic Design has in visual communications content.  There are many influential designers out there, one of the major graphic designers I recently found to be a big inspiration for me is Paul Rand and the way he understood visual communication.

Here's an interesting quote about him I wanted to share, "Paul Rand understood the value of ordinary, universally understood signs and symbols as tools for translating ideas into visual communications.  To engage the audience successfully and communicate memorably, he knew that the designer needed to alter and juxtapose signs and symbols.  A reinterpretation of the message was sometimes necessary to make the ordinary into something extraordinary.  For all his visual inventiveness, Rand defined design as the integration of form and function for effective communication."
